Anson Bay is one of the most scenic and secluded spots on Norfolk Island. You reach it via a steep walking track, and when you get to the bottom, you’re rewarded with a wide stretch of beach, cliffs framing both sides, and barely another person in sight. It’s not set up for sunbathing or cafes. It’s just raw, quiet beauty, perfect for a short hike, a peaceful sit, or a few moments away from everything else on the island.

Autumn is best for clear skies, comfortable walking temperatures, and easier access down the coastal path without summer heat.

Getting There
From Burnt Pine, drive about 10 minutes west on Anson Bay Road until you reach the small car park near the lookout. There are no signs for shops or facilities, just a dirt area and the start of the walking track. It’s a short but steep hike down to the beach, so wear proper shoes and bring water.
