Murchison Falls National Park gives you one of Uganda’s most complete safari experiences, with game drives, boat trips, and one of the country’s most dramatic natural landmarks all in one place. The park is best known for the point where the Nile forces its way through a narrow gorge before crashing down at Murchison Falls, but the wider landscape also brings open savannah, river views, and strong wildlife sightings that make it easy to fill out a full itinerary.
When to visit
June to August is the clearest mid-year safari window, while December to February is another excellent period for drier wildlife viewing.

Getting There
From central Masindi, drive north toward Murchison Falls National Park through one of the southern access routes, which is the usual starting point by road. You can also reach the park from Kampala via the Masindi route, or fly from Entebbe to airstrips such as Pakuba for a shorter final transfer into the park.
