Lemala Wildwaters Lodge

About Lemala Wildwaters Lodge

Located on a private island along the River Nile, Lemala Wildwaters Lodge gives you a stay that feels different from the usual safari experience. Surrounded by forest and fast-moving water, it combines a peaceful setting with easy access to one of Uganda’s best-known adventure areas. It’s a good choice if you want somewhere that feels secluded and memorable, while still giving you plenty to do both on and off the river.

When to visit

June to September is the driest and clearest stretch, while December to February is another strong window for warm days and easier river-based escapes.

Most popular: June - September

Spring · Mar, Apr, May

March to May is the wetter, moodier season, with heavier rain peaking around April and lush greenery taking over the riverbanks. It is beautifully dramatic and quieter, but outdoor exploring can feel more weather-dependent and less polished.

Summer · Jun, Jul, Aug

June to August is one of the best times to stay, with slightly cooler temperatures, less rain, and brighter skies over the Nile. The island feels fresh, scenic, and especially rewarding for travellers who want a cleaner, drier backdrop for long lazy lodge days.

Autumn · Sep, Oct, Nov

September to November brings greener scenery and rising rainfall, especially through October and November. The setting stays warm and seductive, but the atmosphere becomes softer, wetter, and more tropical as the short rains return.

Winter · Dec, Jan, Feb

December to February is a warm, inviting season with February standing out as the driest month and one of the hottest. This is a gorgeous period for romantic stays, river views, and soaking up the island’s dramatic setting without the heavier rains of spring.
