Summer spans Dec. to Feb. and is one of Kilimanjaro’s prime climbing seasons, especially in January and February. Trails are generally drier than during the long rains, the lower slopes feel lush and vivid, and summit attempts often benefit from clearer skies, though this season can still be cold higher up.

Autumn · Mar, Apr, May

Autumn falls from Mar. to May and is the least attractive period for most climbers because it overlaps with the long rains. Trails are wetter, cloud cover is heavier, and the mountain feels moodier and more challenging, though the forested lower slopes can be intensely beautiful and quiet.

Winter · Jun, Jul, Aug

Winter in Kilimanjaro runs from Jun. to Aug. and is the classic high-demand trekking season. Conditions are generally drier and clearer, which improves views and route comfort, but the mountain can feel busier and colder at altitude, especially near the summit.

Warangi Ridge is located in Central Serengeti in northern Tanzania, roughly 41 kilometres from Seronera Airstrip, with the final stretch usually done by road transfer through the park.
