Pendjari Safari Lodge

About Pendjari Safari Lodge

Pendjari Safari Lodge feels more immersed in the park than a standard safari base. Inside Pendjari National Park, it keeps the wildlife experience front and centre while still giving you a stay that feels comfortable and well set up. The setting is a big part of the appeal, especially if you want a safari in Benin that feels quieter, more focused, and closely tied to the landscape around it.

When to visit

December to May is the strongest overall safari period, with drier weather, thinner vegetation, and easier wildlife viewing inside Pendjari.

Most popular: December - March

Spring · Mar, Apr, May

Spring runs from Mar. to May and grows progressively hotter before the full rains take over. March still feels dry and rewarding for game viewing, but April and May become greener and more humid, with safari conditions beginning to soften as rainfall rises.

Summer · Jun, Jul, Aug

Summer spans Jun. to Aug. and is the heart of the rainy season in the nearest defensible climate zone for the lodge. The landscapes turn lush and vivid, but heavy rain, thicker vegetation, and muddier roads make this a less polished season for classic safari travel.

Autumn · Sep, Oct, Nov

Autumn falls from Sep. to Nov. and begins wet before drying improves later in the season. September and October can still feel green and changeable, while November becomes much more appealing for wildlife viewing and easier movement through the park.

Winter · Dec, Jan, Feb

Winter in Pendjari Safari Lodge runs from Dec. to Feb. and is the most attractive time to stay, with dry weather, bright light, and stronger safari conditions. This is when the bush feels crispest and wildlife viewing is generally at its most rewarding.
