Koorana Crocodile Farm

About Koorana Crocodile Farm

Koorana Crocodile Farm gives you the chance to get up close to one of Australia’s most impressive reptiles in a safe, controlled environment. The farm is home to over 3,000 saltwater crocodiles and provides daily tours where you can watch feeding demonstrations and learn about crocodile behaviour, conservation, and farming. There’s also the unique opportunity to hold a baby crocodile. It’s an educational and unforgettable experience that’s both thrilling and family-friendly.

When to visit

Cooler, drier months offer the most comfortable weather for touring the farm, watching outdoor feeding shows, and exploring without extreme heat or humidity.

Most popular: May - August

Spring · Sep, Oct, Nov

Spring brings warm days and cool nights, providing excellent conditions for visiting the farm. The crocodiles are very active as the warmer temperatures return. Tour groups are generally smaller than in summer, and the farm’s outdoor areas are ideal for leisurely exploring and taking photos of the animals.

Summer · Dec, Jan, Feb

Summer can be very hot and humid, with the chance of afternoon storms. However, it is also the crocodiles’ breeding season, which makes tours especially interesting. Early tours are recommended before temperatures peak. Shade is available around the farm, and indoor displays offer a break from the heat.

Autumn · Mar, Apr, May

Autumn is one of the most enjoyable times to visit. The weather becomes milder, and crocodiles are still active. It’s a great time to see feeding demonstrations and enjoy a more relaxed visit without the higher visitor numbers of the summer holidays. The farm grounds look lush after the rainy season.

Winter · Jun, Jul, Aug

Winter is dry and mild, making it a perfect time to walk around the farm and attend outdoor talks. Although cooler weather may mean the crocodiles are slightly less active, tours still run as normal, and the farm’s peaceful atmosphere makes for a great day out. Mornings are crisp but afternoons warm up nicely.
