Pemba Island
About Pemba Island
Pemba Island feels quieter and more rooted in the sea than Zanzibar’s busier beach areas. Known as the “Green Island,” it stands out for its lush interior, strong diving and snorkelling, and a pace that feels slower and less built around crowds. It works especially well if you want a beach trip that still feels low-key, with more focus on the reef, the landscape, and the island itself.
When to visit
June to October is the classic dry-season sweet spot, while January and February add hot, sunny island weather with strong beach and diving appeal.
