Karera Waterfalls
About Karera Waterfalls
Karera Waterfalls stands out for the setting more than anything else. In southeastern Burundi, the falls cut through a greener, more rugged landscape that feels very different from the country’s better-known city and lake stops. The site is made up of several cascades rather than a single drop, which gives it a fuller, more layered feel when you are there.
When to visit
June to September is the strongest overall period for easier access and drier conditions, while the wetter months can make the cascades more forceful and dramatic.
Most popular: June - August
