Namibe Desert
About Namibe Desert
Namibe Desert is worth visiting if you want landscapes that feel completely different from the usual beach or city trip. You get massive dunes, stark coastal scenery, rare Welwitschia plants, and access to Iona National Park, which is part of the northern Namib Desert. It’s a good pick if you like remote places, dramatic views, and nature that feels raw rather than polished or built around tourism.
When to visit
Apr. to Jun. and Oct. to Nov. offer the best balance of warmth, comfort, and clearer conditions for exploring the Angolan Namib.
