Almeria

About Almeria

Situated along Spain's southern Mediterranean coast, the province of Almeria is home to turquoise waters, secluded coves, volcanic cliffs, quaint fishing villages and modern beach resorts. The main town (also called Almeria) was formerly one of the regions most important shipping ports, with an ancient 10th-century Moorish fortress (Alcazaba) overlooking the city's historic quarter, lined with narrow lanes and whitewashed homes.
