Each year between mid-April and early May, The Netherlands countryside bursts into life with colourful fields of tulips. The tulip fields are dotted all over the country, but one of the best places to witness this gorgeous spectacle is in the town of Middelharnis about an hours drive southwest from Rotterdam.
