About Cairns Adventure Group

Cairns Adventure Group brings together multiple outdoor experiences under one roof, from rafting and tubing to rainforest tours and wildlife parks. It’s a good option if you want to pack in a lot without having to jump between different operators. The guides are easygoing, the pickups are on time, and everything is based around real local knowledge. Whether you’re chasing waterfalls or floating down a river, it’s all doable in one trip with minimal stress.

When to visit

Winter is dry, cool, and comfortable. It’s the best time for rafting, wildlife tours, and exploring without the summer humidity.

Most popular: June - August

Spring · Sep, Oct, Nov

Spring brings warmer weather and fewer crowds than summer. Water levels rise slightly, which is great for tubing and rafting, while the rainforest begins to buzz with life. It’s a good time for full-day combos like adventure plus wildlife or water plus walking. Early starts are more comfortable than later ones.

Summer · Dec, Jan, Feb

Summer is hot, humid, and wet. It’s green and dramatic, with waterfalls at full force and the rainforest alive with sound. Tours still run, but you’ll get wet whether you plan to or not. It’s not the most comfortable season for long hikes, but great for white water and rainforest canopy experiences.

Autumn · Mar, Apr, May

Autumn balances heat and rain. The waterfalls are still flowing, but conditions become steadier. It’s a good time to try multi-stop day tours with less chance of getting rained out. Tour groups tend to be smaller too, so there’s a bit more flexibility and room to move.

Winter · Jun, Jul, Aug

Winter is the best season for comfort. The air is crisp in the morning, the rain mostly clears, and you can enjoy tubing, rafting, and wildlife parks without the intense heat. It’s also the easiest season for combining multiple outdoor activities into one full day without rushing or overheating.
