Summersville Lake is known as the Little Bahamas of the East because its crystal clear waters -- perfect for snorkeling and scuba diving. With over 2,800 acres of water and over 60 miles of shoreline, it's no wonder it's the Mountain State's largest lake. Unique area attractions include the Summersville Lake Lighthouse, the only lighthouse in landlocked West Virginia, and Carnifex Ferry Battlefield State Park, an important Civil War battle site.
