Towering pine trees, rock-strewn landscapes and breathtaking overlooks characterize the expansive Dolly Sods Wilderness. At over 17,300 acres, it spans over three of West Virginia’s counties, providing plenty of opportunity for hiking, biking and cross-country skiing. Containing much of the Red Creek drainage and acting as a home to bog and heath eco-types, explorers will soon find the forestry is closer to what one would find in places far north like Canada.

Getting There
The road to Dolly Sods can be a little bumpy as it's a gravel road to the top. It's accessed from West Virginia Route 32, roughly three hours from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
