Olmo Market

About Olmo Market

Olmo Market is a neighborhood café and creative market in Elmwood, built around coffee, horchata, handmade chocolate and goods from local makers. Co-owner Cindy Pedraza developed it as a community-focused space rather than a standard coffee shop, and that identity continues through pop-ups, art events and cultural gatherings. The small, bright space feels distinctly Oak Cliff, making it a good stop for coffee, something sweet and browsing locally made finds.

When to visit

Spring brings milder Dallas weather and longer daylight, making it easier to stop for coffee and spend more time exploring Elmwood and Oak Cliff afterward.

Most popular: March - May

Spring · Mar, Apr, May

Dallas warms steadily through spring, with mild mornings and increasingly warm afternoons as May approaches. Rain and thunderstorms become more frequent during the season, but Olmo Market works well as an indoor stop when the weather changes. Its daytime hours suit a morning coffee or afternoon visit, while community events and pop-ups can add something different depending on the date. Longer daylight also leaves more time to explore Elmwood and other parts of Oak Cliff afterward.

Summer · Jun, Jul, Aug

Summer brings Dallas’ strongest heat, with normal highs reaching about 96°F and many afternoons climbing above 100°F. Olmo Market opens early Tuesday through Friday, making morning one of the better times to visit before temperatures peak. Coffee, horchata and other cold drinks suit the season, while the indoor space gives you a break from the afternoon sun. Weekend hours start a little later, and local events can occasionally extend activity beyond the regular daytime routine.

Autumn · Sep, Oct, Nov

September can remain hot in Dallas, but temperatures gradually ease through October and November. Cooler afternoons later in the season make it easier to spend time around Elmwood before or after stopping at Olmo Market. Seasonal drinks, chocolate and community programming can change throughout the year, so each visit can feel slightly different. The market also has a history of hosting local makers and cultural gatherings, adding more interest beyond simply stopping in for coffee.

Winter · Dec, Jan, Feb

Dallas winters are generally mild, though strong cold fronts can bring freezing mornings and occasional ice or snow. Olmo Market’s indoor setting makes it an easy daytime stop when colder weather arrives, particularly for coffee, chocolate or time browsing the retail shelves. The market closes on Mondays but otherwise keeps regular daytime hours through the week. Most winter days still allow normal travel around Oak Cliff, although icy conditions can occasionally disrupt roads when stronger systems move through North Texas.
