Mount Rushmore National Memorial is a massive sculpture carved into Mount Rushmore in the Black Hills region of South Dakota. Completed in 1941, the sculpture's roughly 60-ft.-high granite faces depict U.S. presidents George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Theodore Roosevelt and Abraham Lincoln.

Getting There
From Rapid City's downtown, head south on US-16 for about 24 miles. Follow the signs to Mount Rushmore, which will lead you directly to the national monument, showcasing the iconic carved faces of four U.S. presidents.
