Pier 39 is a shopping center and popular tourist attraction built on a pier in San Francisco, California. Pier 39 is known for its spectacular views of San Francisco Bay including the Golden Gate Bridge, Bay Bridge and Alcatraz, as well as the world famous California sea lions hauled out on K-Dock.

To reach Pier 39 in San Francisco, start from Union Square. Head northeast on Powell Street and take the Powell-Hyde Cable Car line directly to the waterfront. Alternatively, a short taxi or bus ride via the F-Market & Wharves line will get you there quickly.
