The Mendenhall Ice Caves are located within a glacier, just 12 miles north of the Alaskan capital, Juneau. To access the ice caves and their magical, bright-blue ceilings, visitors must kayak to the edge of the ice wall before climbing over the glacier to reach the entrance.
