Situated along the Turkish Riviera in the country's south, Alanya is a popular resort town boasting wide sandy beaches lined with hotels, restaurants and red tiled-roof Ottoman villas. The famous Cleopatra Beach is named after the Egyptian queen, who according to legend, regularly swam here.
