A three hour drive from Oman's capital, Muscat, the Wahiba Sands are an expansive stretch of ever-changing sand dunes, shifting not only in shape but in colour, from gold, to yellow to bright orange, depending on the time of day. A 4WD or quad biking expedition through the dunes are a popular activity, and should be included on any trip to Oman.
