About Anantara Al Jabal Al Akhdar Resort

Anantara Al Jabal Al Akhdar Resort gives you front-row seats to Oman's rugged mountain beauty without compromising comfort. It’s one of the highest luxury resorts in the Middle East, with incredible canyon views, a dramatic infinity pool, and thoughtful service. You can unwind in total peace, explore nearby villages, or just enjoy the cooler temperatures year-round. It’s a solid pick if you're after something unique, remote, and far from the usual beach resort experience.

When to visit

The best time to visit Anantara Al Jabal Al Akhdar Resort is from March to May. During this period, the weather is pleasantly cool, and the surrounding landscapes are vibrant.

Most popular: March - May

Spring · Mar, Apr, May

Spring is one of the most enjoyable times to visit. Days are pleasantly warm and nights still cool—perfect for lounging on your private terrace or joining a sunrise hike through nearby villages and mountain trails. Wildflowers begin to bloom across the canyon, and the fresh mountain air adds something special to outdoor dining or a dip in the infinity pool with that dramatic view.

Summer · Jun, Jul, Aug

Unlike most of Oman, the mountains stay relatively cool in summer. While Muscat bakes, Jabal Akhdar becomes a refuge with daytime temperatures that are surprisingly manageable. It’s the season for stone fruits like pomegranates and peaches, and local farms often welcome visitors. The resort is quiet, the air is fresh, and it's a great time to escape the lowland heat without leaving the country.

Autumn · Sep, Oct, Nov

Autumn brings a drop in temperature and a return to crisp evenings. The skies are clear, making it ideal for stargazing or cliffside dinners. This season also marks the olive and rosewater harvest in nearby villages, adding a local cultural angle to the trip. Whether you're into soft adventure or just slowing down, this is when the resort feels especially balanced.

Winter · Dec, Jan, Feb

Expect cold mornings, chilly nights, and the occasional frost. Yes, it’s Oman—but you’ll want jackets and scarves here. It’s the kind of winter that invites long afternoons by a fire pit, hot drinks with a view, and even snow flurries on rare days. The resort leans into the coziness, with spa sessions, warm Omani cuisine, and canyon-edge lounging with blankets provided.
