Mpala Jena Camp

About Mpala Jena Camp

Mpala Jena Camp feels more removed than a standard Victoria Falls stay, which is a big part of the appeal. In Zambezi National Park, it is more about the river, the quieter safari setting, and the sense of being away from town while still staying close enough to include the falls in the wider trip. The atmosphere is more private and low-key than a typical hotel base, so the stay feels more tied to the landscape itself.

When to visit

June to October is the strongest overall period, with dry weather, easy river activities, and excellent wildlife viewing along the Zambezi.

Most popular: June - October

Spring · Sep, Oct, Nov

Spring runs from Sep. to Nov. and begins hot, bright, and dry before the rains build later in the season. September and October are especially rewarding for river activity and wildlife along the Zambezi, while November feels greener, softer, and more changeable.

Summer · Dec, Jan, Feb

Summer spans Dec. to Feb. and brings warm, lush, and more tropical conditions around Victoria Falls. The riverine scenery feels richer and greener, and the camp remains beautifully atmospheric, though rainfall is higher than in the core dry season.

Autumn · Mar, Apr, May

Autumn falls from Mar. to May and is a transition period from the wet season into the dry season. March can still feel fresh and green, while April and May become progressively drier and more polished for safari and riverside relaxation.

Winter · Jun, Jul, Aug

Winter in Mpala Jena runs from Jun. to Aug. and is the classic time to visit, with dry weather, cooler mornings, and strong wildlife activity along the river. This is when the camp feels crispest, calmest, and most rewarding for a polished luxury safari stay.
