Lion Camp
Guest FavouriteAbout Lion Camp
Lion Camp sits in the remote northern part of South Luangwa National Park, so it gives you a safari stay that feels quieter, more exclusive, and more connected to the wild than places closer to the main gateway. The setting is a big part of the appeal, with views over an oxbow lagoon and easy access to one of Zambia’s strongest wildlife areas. It is a good choice if you want a trip that feels scenic, comfortable, and genuinely focused on the safari itself.

Dining
Lion Camp has one main dining experience, and it feels in step with the rest of the stay: relaxed, polished, and rooted in its remote South Luangwa setting. Meals start with early breakfasts before game drives, followed by fresh lunches and well put together three-course dinners later in the day. The menu changes daily and draws on local ingredients sourced with help from farmers in Mfuwe, giving the food a more local, seasonal feel.

Getting There
From Mfuwe, drive into South Luangwa National Park and continue north through the park to Lion Camp, which is reached after a longer game-drive-style transfer into a quieter part of the reserve. If you are arriving by air, Mfuwe Airport is the usual gateway before the final road transfer to camp.
