Bijilo Forest Park adds a greener, quieter side to The Gambia’s coast, which is a big part of why people like it. Known as Monkey Park, it is less about dramatic scenery and more about an easy walk through coastal forest with monkeys, birds, and a setting that feels a little removed from the busier beach strip nearby. It is a simple stop, but one that adds variety to time around the coast.

November to May is the strongest overall period, with drier weather, easier walking trails, and better wildlife spotting in the forest.
