The Spitzkoppe peaks seem to pop out of nowhere from the flat surroundings on the Namib Desert plains. Rising 1,700m above sea level, these granite rocks are believed to date back more than 120 million years.

Getting There

To reach Spitzkoppe from Swakopmund, drive east on the B2 highway for about 70 km, then take the D1918 and follow the signs for another 50 km. The journey takes approximately 2 hours.
