Spinguera Ecolodge feels more removed than the usual stay on Boa Vista, which is part of what makes it stand out. On the island’s north coast within Parque Natural do Norte, it suits a trip that leans quieter, more scenic, and more tied to the landscape than the resort side of Boa Vista. The setting does a lot of the work here, especially if you want somewhere that feels calm and a little off the usual route.

Spinguera Ecolodge has one restaurant, Cá Cabra, serving Cape Verdean and Italian cuisine for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Mornings start with fruit, yoghurt, cakes, biscuits and homemade jams, while later meals include fresh fish, meat and vegetables prepared with Creole flavours. Ingredients are sourced locally whenever possible, including vegetables from nearby gardens. Italian dishes drawn from the owner’s family recipes add variety to the daily menu, and vegetarian options are available.
Spa & Wellness
Shala Da Luz is Spinguera Ecolodge’s open-air wellness space, dedicated to yoga and meditation. Its shaded wooden pavilion sits within Boa Vista’s desert landscape, with the ocean nearby. The space accommodates individual practice and small-group sessions, keeping things personal and unhurried. Private yoga and meditation sessions can be arranged on request. The lodge can also organise massages for guests looking for some downtime between island outings. Massage appointments need to be booked in advance, so these are best planned around your stay. The outdoor swimming pool adds another option for a slower afternoon. Measuring 14 metres long, its design takes inspiration from Santo Antão’s traditional water cisterns. Guests can swim or relax beside the water in an open setting between the desert and ocean.
